What is bacteriostatic?

“Bacteriostatic" is a preservative called benzyl alcohol that is added to sterile water products to prolong there shelf life. Thus making it a "multi dose" injectable called bacteriostatic water.

Bacteriostatic water for injection contains a bacteriostatic preservative called benzyl alcohol that is added into the sterile water.
